Queensland is not one market, so the state is covered as nine regions. Each has its own page setting out the industries that dominate there, who the buyers actually are, and what they examine before putting a number on the table. Districts inside South East Queensland and the Darling Downs have their own pages again, because those are the areas serviced face to face as a matter of course.

Counts are actively trading businesses at 30 June 2025 from ABS Counts of Australian Businesses, released 26 August 2025. The index compares that region’s share of a division with the Queensland share. Every figure comes from the regional page it links to, where the source and date are given.
The head office economy, plus the industrial south and the port corridor.

Two councils. Noosa grew its business base 0.6 per cent to 30 June 2025.

Who you would be dealing with
Tony Pope holds Queensland Office of Fair Trading licence 4963575 and is a member of the Australian Institute of Business Brokers.
Behind the licence sit more than twenty years of operating and asset disposal work. Eight years selling heavy equipment, trucks and machinery through global unreserved auctions across mining, construction, transport and logistics. Two years running national auction and fleet disposal across a portfolio above $150 million and nine sites. Then the operator’s side: he and his wife co-founded a toy retail and wholesale business, built it from a home based startup to several million dollars a year, and sold it.
He works from Gumdale in Brisbane and is licensed for the whole state. For a business in Cairns or Longreach the honest position is that the process and the buyer research are identical and the travel is a scheduling question. What is not claimed anywhere on this site is local presence in a town he does not work in.
